Covid -19 Vaccine Information / February 9, 2021

Guilford County advised over the weekend that they have 3800 further doses of vaccine and eligible persons may sign up for vaccine appointments starting Tuesday, February 9, 2021,  from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eligible persons are still health care providers, long term care residents and those 65 years of age or older. Update on Save Guilford College’s efforts: We’re happy to report that the Guilford College board of trustees announced in early January that they were “setting aside” the proposed cuts to the liberal arts and terminations of tenured faculty positions. COVID 19 vaccine access is similar to last week as below: Vaccinations are currently open to persons age 65 and older by appointment only, at https://tinyurl.com/y3h3dhwf Phone: 336-890-1188. New Gardener’s Day of Service / January 18, 2021

The January 18 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day parade was cancelled due to Covid, but a Day Of Service was encouraged by City Council member Sharon Hightower. Fourteen New Gardeners showed up masked with trash bags, and were spread out to pick up litter from all the blocks of MLK Drive.
