New Garden’s Peace and Social Concerns Committee provides small grants to organizations for projects that address priority issues through the Meeting’s Broader Concerns budget. Priorities for 2019 include: • Peace and conflict prevention/resolution • Poverty, homelessness, and hunger • Youth engagement • Clean energy and climate change crisis • Social, racial, and economic justice • Refugee crisis and immigrant rights. “Friendly 8” are groups of Friends from New Garden Friends Meeting who meet monthly for food and fellowship. They offer an opportunity to get to know other members of New Garden Friends Meeting and are wonderful for both newcomers and long-time members alike.
