Margaret has partnered with the Meeting on Ministry and Counsel to shorten her work week so that she can spend more time with her family. She will be using her paid time off (vacation time) to take every Thursday off through the end of December. Margaret will continue to work her regular schedule of Sunday through Wednesday and some Saturdays. On Thursdays and Fridays Deborah Suess will help provide pastoral care coverage whenever possible.
Caring Friends is comprised of a small, dedicated group of individuals committed to reaching out to those in the community who need a little extra love and support. Particularly during the pandemic, this responsibility has fallen on just a handful of people from our meeting. On the 1st Tuesday of each month, New Gardeners serve a meal at Greensboro Urban Ministries’ Weaver House, a shelter for homeless adults. The meal consists of “Cowboy Stew”, a turkey ham sandwich with condiments, assorted home-baked desserts, and iced tea. We need a few more stew preparers and servers. The Meeting on Ministry and Counsel is pleased to introduce Deborah Suess, who will serve as Interim Pastoral Minister of NGFM during Margaret’s 10-week maternity leave, likely beginning in early to mid-August.
