Join Greensboro EarthQuakers in a worship circle outside the Guilford County Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, June 14, 3:45-4:30 pm. As part of the Solar Power Now Coalition’s Green Schools Now! Campaign for sustainable energy practices in Guilford County schools, Greensboro EarthQuakers will hold a Quakerstyle meeting for worship to hold the Board of Education in the Light as they consider future plans for constructing new schools. Following voters’ recent approval of a $1.7 billion bond referendum and the $300 million approved in 2020, the Green Schools Now! campaign urges the Board of Education to make clean energy and high energy-efficiency a priority for all school construction and renovations.
Come worship with fellow Friends at the Board of Education, 712 N. Eugene Street in downtown Greensboro, starting at 3:45 p.m. Our worship will include readings, reflecting on a clean energy query, a time for reflecting and speaking from the silence, and songs.
