Dear Friends,
One of the joys of being the interim pastor of New Garden Friends Meeting is getting to work with our incredible, hardworking staff. Did you know that we currently have nine people on staff? The meeting employs three people full time and six other part time. A few weeks ago, I highlighted the work of our visitation pastor, Deborah Suess, and today I want to lift up the work of others on the NGFM staff.
Our Religious Education Coordinator, Karin Heller, is a gifted minister who oversees the programs for educating children and adults in the meeting, through our First Day Forum, Intergenerational Gatherings, and so much more. I am grateful for the ways that she has been in touch with families and provides programs at times that work best for them and their busy schedules.
Valerie Harris, the office manager, does so much more than answer the phones. She is responsible for payroll, managing the budget, and a myriad of other tasks that keep our meeting running smoothly. Ann Macmaster helps with our banking and keeps us informed and visible through our newsletter and website.
All of the work of our staff makes the ministry of this meeting possible. Marc Alley and Andy Mock bring us deeper into worship with their beautiful music, Eva Houston provides childcare for our families, and T.J. Jasper keeps our meetinghouse clean and welcoming. I hope you will join me in celebrating and thanking the meeting staff for all that they do.
