Dear Friends,

It was so wonderful to see you engage with the Transition Team’s event on Sunday! I appreciated your care and thoughtfulness in responding to the queries in open worship, both aloud and in writing. And I could see how people were getting to know each other better and reflect on what is unique about New Garden Friends Meeting over lunch. Many thanks to everyone who helped to organize and facilitate the gathering.

I am thinking about the diversity of the Religious Society of Friends this week as I prepare for the Friends World Committee for Consultation (FWCC) section meeting this weekend. Quakers from across North and South America will be coming to Greensboro to have fellowship and worship together. I am looking forward to seeing old friends and making new connections with Friends there.

I had the opportunity to worship with Friends worldwide in 2012 at the World Conference of Friends in Kenya. I am including a picture that a friend took of me there: the back of my head surrounded by Kenyan Friends. That was an incredible experience, and I plan to share more about it in my message this week. In the meantime, please hold all of the Friends who are traveling and gathering in the Light.

Blessings, Ashley
