The vigil continues for the tragic killing of a homeless unarmed mentally ill man named Marcus Smith at the hands of Greensboro police 3 years ago. The public is invited to join
as we ask for justice and truth in law enforcement. We will continue every Monday from 12-1 p.m. on Washington St. downtown until the City Council settles his family’s lawsuit, accountability is acknowledged, even a possible apology. Several from NGFM are there weekly; join us and we will give
you a sign to hold as we stand for our values. A bonus is the new friends you may make in the gathering!

The two latest developments: a petition sent to the Federal Department of Justice to look into Greensboro Police training and excessive force; and a recording of stories at Shiloh
Baptist Church, told by citizens who have been intimidated and harmed by our police, showing that Marcus Smith’s case was not an isolated incident.
