The CDC continues to publish weekly metrics, updated every Thursday by 8 pm ET at CDC.gov or (800-CDC-INFO). They now have a quarantine calculator at the same site to help people determine how long to isolate if they have a positive Covid test or are exposed to someone who has Covid. In Guilford County, community level risk of COVID transmission continues to be LOW, but cases ,hospitalizations and early warning indicators are all gradually increasing. The NC Health and Human Services Dashboard is updated weekly on Wednesdays, using updated early metrics like wastewater viral particles and emergency room visits.
Vaccines are the best protection against serious COVID disease, hospitalization, and death. The FDA has now authorized the administration of a second COVID booster dose for those over age 50 and individuals 12 or older with certain immuno-compromising conditions.
The next COVID Medical Advisory Group meeting will be held on Tuesday May 31st at 1:00 pm. Please reach out to Kat Rice or Janie Foy for addition of any questions/issues you have for that meeting agenda.
