Help End the Devastating War on Yemen: Lobby Opportunity
March 26, 2022 marks seven years since the bombing and war started on Yemen. Unfortunately, this past month marks one of the deadliest periods in the war. While it has fallen off the national discourse, media, and frankly awareness of Americans, Quakers and like-minded individuals across the U.S., led by FCNL, are lobbying Congress to end U.S. involvement in the war.
The lobby visit with Rep. Kathy Manning (NC-6) that was previously scheduled for March 17, has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 31 at 11 a.m. It is not too late to join! Numbers do matter! We hope to schedule a visit with Senator Burr’s office as well. Email Lizzie Biddle to join.
Emails and phone calls to our two Senators and your Congressional Representatives does matter this month. It is very likely in the next two weeks the house will vote on a Yemen War Powers Resolution ending U.S. involvement with the Saudi-led coalition in the war.
