You are invited to join Quaker author Ashley Wilcox on Tuesday, August 31; 7:30- 8:30 pm for an online book release party. Ashley (who will be bringing the prepared message at NGFM on October 10) has written a much needed book entitled “The Women’s Lectionary!” We will gather on Zoom to celebrate together. The Women’s Lectionary focuses on passages about women in the Bible and feminine imagery of God. These women are daughters, wives, and mothers. They are also strong female leaders, evil queens, and wicked stepmothers. They are disciples, troublemakers, and prophetesses. Ashley Wilcox explores how the feminine descriptions of God in the Bible are similarly varied-how does it change our understanding if God is feminine wisdom, has wings, or is an angry mother bear?
