Training – February 7th, 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. ON ZOOM
Lobby Day – February 28th, 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. / 16 W. Jones Street, Raleigh, NC
Dear faith and religious community leaders,
Thank you for your interest in and partnership on organizing around issues of abortion and reproductive justice in NC. We all know that this legislative session has the potential to usher in new harsher restrictions for reproductive healthcare in our state AND that any negative impact will fall disproportionately on the most marginalized people in our communities – pregnant people experiencing poverty and BIPOC pregnant people.
In partnership with Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, faith and religious leaders in North Carolina are organizing training and support to help religious leaders and religious people organize to communicate effectively with NC legislators about the importance of continuing to provide legal access to high quality reproductive health care in North Carolina.
Who knows? Maybe we can use this moment to expand our call for medically accurate comprehensive sex education and increased access to contraception and birth control!! We can always dream!
So, we are organizing a two-part training to prepare people for lobbying on Feb. 28.
The first part of the training will be on Tuesday, Feb. 7 from 8:30-10 am on zoom, you can either attend in real time or you will be sent a link to watch the recording. Either way, please click here to register.
The second part will be our lobby day on Feb. 28 from 12-4, this will include some training/prep and then conversations with legislators/legislative aids.
We hope you are able to join us in this historic moment as we work to organize and empower people of faith to share their stories and their concerns about reproductive justice with NC legislators. Feel free to share this with your congregation members/friends and any other colleagues/friends across the state.
