We will be watching the film “Minimalism: A Documentary about the Important Things”. The film explores how your life might be better with less. It examines the many flavors of minimalism by taking the audience inside the lives of minimalists from all walks of life, all of whom are striving to live a meaningful life with less. This year’s Seekers Classes are set to start February 17th and will run for four Sundays from February 17 – March 10 from 3 to 5 p.m. These sessions are wonderful for newcomers and also long-time members where we will cover the basics of Quaker history, the testimonies, and Quaker faith, Quaker community practices and business practices and variations among different branches of Quakers.

Wildllife Ecology Lecture at Hege Library

J. Drew Lanham, Alumni Distinguished Professor of Wildlife Ecology at Clemson University, will give a talk in the Carnegie Room of Hege Library on the Guilford College campus. Drew's talk is entitled “Loving the Land -- The Heart's Way Forward to Nurturing Nature in the Anthropocene." Parlor / Vicki McCready will take our previous study of the Southern Poverty Law Center's booklet on how to speak up when faced with bigoted comments, to the next level. A member of First Friends Meeting, Vicki has designed small group sessions to think together and apply ideas to 15 actual scenarios from our normal daily lives. Come experience speaking up and learn from each other what our choices are.
