11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. / Join us to learn more about Greensboro’s own Magnolia House. The Magnolia House (known by it’s formal name, the Daniel D. Debutts House) was a popular destination for African American travelers who were not allowed to share the same accommodations as whites. Many famous African Americans stayed there, including James Baldwin, Ray Charles, Jackie Robinson, and even well loved Logie Meachum.
It is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is also in the South Greensboro National Register Historic District. Together, we will explore the website, watch a brief video about “The Green-Book”, and learn more about the many offerings of this rich piece of Greensboro’s history.
Adult Forum will run on Zoom, 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Please contact Karin Heller for more information or link to join on Zoom.
