There is usually not a directed message from the pastor, only a few words about the person and information about the approach to a Quaker memorial service.<\/p>\n<p>The service may or may not include singing, prayer, instrumental music and readings dependent on the request of the deceased\u2019s family. The selections would generally be followed by a period of silence broken only by the voices of friends and family who feel led to speak about their loved one and friend.
