Dear Friends,
Doesn’t winter start to get a bit tiresome come February? It’s still cold. It’s still dark. But there aren’t any gatherings, celebrations, or baked goods. Fear not! We’ve got just the event to cure any winter blues.

Join us Friday, February 17th, 5-7 p.m. in Fellowship Hall for a cookie bake and game night. Childcare will be available, but must be pre-arranged. I’ll include more information in the newsletter next week. In the meantime, the flyer is attached.

Also attached, you will find a list of events that you can put on your calendar now before they sneak up on us. You can find both documents posted on the (new) Religious Education bulletin board as well. I hope you will check them out, and pop in to say hello.

Warmly,
Karin

Children are Welcome at Meeting for Worship!

All children are invited and encouraged to join us during Meeting for Worship. There is a blanket in the back corner of the meeting room for children to sit on for Meeting for Wiggles. They are welcome to bring small, quiet toys to play with. Crayons and activity packets are available in the foyer outside the Worship room.
Childcare is available beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the rise of Meeting for Worship.

Please email Karin Heller if you plan to use childcare to ensure coverage. [email protected]

Expanding Medicaid in North Carolina has never been as close as it is now. Join New Garden Members Dot Mason, Tim Lindeman, and Lizzie Biddle as they share information about the NC legislature, the possibilities of Medicaid expansion, and the Friends Committee on North Carolina Legislation (FCNCL) in-person advocacy day in Raleigh, on March 22. In addition to lobbying to ensure 600,000+ of our neighbors can get healthcare coverage by expanding Medicaid, it is the start of the two-year cycle for the General Assembly and is the perfect time to build or strengthen your relationship with your representatives.
