Dear Friends,
This week in semi-programmed worship, I will be wearing an extra microphone. That is because we will have an additional group joining us for worship: people who listen to Thee Quaker Podcast. This is a new podcast for Friends and those who want to know more about Friends. Once a month, Thee Quaker Podcast will feature a prepared message to share with listeners to give them an experience of Quaker worship. Jon Watts, co-host and executive producer of the podcast, reached out to me and asked if I would be willing to record one of my messages, and I said I would be delighted to share our worship at New Garden Friends Meeting.
One of the things I treasure most about worship at New Garden Friends Meeting is the variety of voices we hear in worship. This is true of the messages in our open worship as well as for our prepared messages. Karin Heller, our Religious Education Coordinator, gave a wonderful message for Recognition Sunday this past week. If you haven’t had a chance to listen to it, I recommend checking it out on the New Garden Facebook page.
