Dear Friends, As I mentioned last week, I got to go to the Saturday session of the Friends World Committee for Consultation (FWCC) meeting for the Section of the Americas. It was a joy to see Friends from near and far, and I enjoyed Bill Eagles’ workshop on addressing conflict in meetings. I am grateful to everyone who helped organize this event, and I know that the Friends from colder climates enjoyed our spring weather!

I have heard from some of you that you would like to know more about future FWCC events. The next FWCC World Gathering of Friends will take place in August of 2024 in South Africa. The planning committee is encouraging younger Friends to consider going, and yearly meetings will be sending representatives. More information will be posted on the FWCC website here: https://fwcc.world/events/world-plenary-meetings.

This week in worship, I am delighted to welcome Wess Daniels as our guest speaker. Wess is the Director of Friends Center and Quaker Studies at Guilford College. He is also my good friend and neighbor. Wess has written extensively about renewal among Friends and a Quaker approach to the book of Revelation. I look forward to hearing what he has to share with us.

Blessings, Ashley
