Dear Friends,

In worship this week, we heard a number of messages about collaborative leadership. A Friend shared that collaborative leadership was one of the things that drew her to New Garden Friends, and how much she appreciates that leadership approach.

I agree, and I wanted to share just a few things that are happening right now to strengthen the leadership of the meeting. Nominating is meeting to discern the next slate of officers and committee appointments. Caring Friends is hosting a pastoral visitation training in which we expect to have more than twenty people, including seven Guilford College students. And I have been working with the RE Coordinator and others to plan an upcoming clerking workshop.

I lift these up because they are examples of how we are naming gifts, teaching skills, and building capacity for leadership. In this season of discernment, I hope that you will consider how your gifts might best serve our community. I am grateful for all that you do.

Blessings, Ashley
