New Gardeners are encouraged to go downtown together to view or march in the Martin Luther King Parade at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 21. We owe it to our friends of color to stand on our Testimony of Equality as white allies to respect the heroic Martin Luther King. Raleigh’s Crossroads UMC has invited us again to march with them on the parade route from Benbow Professional Center down MLK drive. We can meet at NGFM to carpool from there between 9:30-10 a.m. Kate Seel and CH Holcombe will guide two groups: one to watch the parade together and another to march, perhaps holding signs of meaningful quotations by MLK. Please contact Kate (336-455-2591; [email protected]) or CH (336-288-7555; [email protected]) for more information. NOTE: We will also have options for lunch and a visit to the International Civil Rights Center & Museum following the march. All are welcome to join us!
