Sponsored by the North Carolina Alternatives to Violence Project in partnership with the NC Peace Resource Center for anyone who has completed the Basic AVP training. The Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) helps us explore the power we all have to change hostility and destructiveness into cooperation, community, and justice to discover new ways to reduce conflict in your world, your community, organization, or personal life. Enjoy a hands-on, fun, activity-based experience (no need to take notes!) in an intensive weekend workshop. People who have taken the training report have connected deeply with others, laughed, shared, listened. They’ve experienced increased trust and self-esteem and learned ways to reduce conflict in their world—whether classroom, family, work, or community. The workshop will be at Jamestown Friends Meeting, 509 Guilford Road, Jamestown, NC 27282 from Friday evening, January 24 through Sunday, January 26. The cost is $25.00 registration fee for the weekend [additional tax-deductible donations gratefully accepted for the scholarship fund] includes registration and includes snacks, beverages, and lunch on Saturday [vegan option will be available]. Reserve now – space is limited. [We will keep a waiting list for future workshops] Contact: Kathy Adams ([email protected]). The deadline for registration and fee payment is January 1, 2020. Register at Eventbrite at https://tinyurl.com/t4ft3t9. For payment by check, make payable to Jamestown Friends Meeting, memo to AVP training. Remember . . . Peace begins with you! Workshop facilitators are volunteers. Do not stay away due to the registration fee; scholarships are available.
