Family Camp is this weekend! We are scheduled to arrive at 5 p.m. on Friday and enjoy a “pitch-in” meal together. The rest of the weekend will be full of delicious food, fall crafts, baking, a pie-eating contest, bonfire and s’mores, and plenty of free time for walks, puzzles, and board games. Piedmont Friends Fellowship will hold their annual Fall Retreat the weekend of September 7-9 at Seven Springs Lodge and Retreat, 118 Alder Ln, Mocksville, NC 27028. The format will be like last year’s: participants can camp or stay at a Mocksville motel, come for the entire weekend, or just a part of it. We are so excited to welcome Juana Tobar Ortega, who is in sanctuary at St. Barnabas Church, and Lori Fernald Khamala from American Friends Service Committee as our guest speakers during Meeting for Worship at 11:00 a.m. on August 19! Worship will be intentionally bilingual (Spanish/English) and Juana Ortega will speak to us via Skype, so Friends should prepare for worship that day to be a little unusual (but beautiful!).

The Friendship Community Partnership includes 5 churches; Collins Grove UMC, New Garden Friends, Persimmon Grove AME, Raleigh’s Cross Roads UMC and St. Barnabas Episcopal. We will gather at 6 pm for a shared potluck dinner and then worship together from 7-8pm. Worship will include music from our choirs, readings and prayers.
