Do you have time for a game of Pick-up-Sticks? Help is needed at your leisure to pick up sticks along our front and side yards of both the Meetinghouse and parsonage grounds. There are two large plastic skids to load and pull to the pile already established in the parking lot. The skids can be found outside the east side connector door for your use. Friends may help those in need by hanging coats, scarves, gloves, hats, etc. under the bridge at 300 Spring Garden Street. This project, sponsored by 16 Cents Ministry, will be available through March. All donated items should be hung on the fence instead of dropping off bags, as organizers try to keep the area neat. The Big Sweep Cleanup for Greensboro Beautiful will be on Saturday, February 20, 1-3 p.m. Our friends from Friendship Community Partnership churches have been invited to join us. The January 18 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day parade was cancelled due to Covid, but a Day Of Service was encouraged by City Council member Sharon Hightower. Fourteen New Gardeners showed up masked with trash bags, and were spread out to pick up litter from all the blocks of MLK Drive. We easily spread out over the two mile stretch, and finally joined to sing in masks at the statue of King at Bragg Street.…
Can you can help recycle foam at the new Greensboro Foam Recycling drop-off site at 1310 West Gate City Boulevard? This is the only volunteer-based foam recycling program in North Carolina. Now that the densifier is installed at the Tiny House Recycling and Training Center, loads of people are dropping off loads of foam each day.
