Needed: Participants for Monthly Meal for Homeless / June 2021

On the 1st Tuesday of each month, New Gardeners serve a meal at Greensboro Urban Ministries’ Weaver House, a shelter for homeless adults. The meal consists of “Cowboy Stew”, a turkey ham sandwich with condiments, assorted home-baked desserts, and iced tea. We need a few more stew preparers and servers. Cases of COVID, hospitalizations and percent positive COVID tests in NC have decreased and stayed stable at relatively low levels  this week. Vaccination numbers increased slowly with NC having 44% of the total population and 81% of persons age 65 years and older now fully vaccinated.
