6 p.m. in the Huggins Performance Center of the Odell Building, UNCG College campus.

You and your friends are invited to a free screening and discussion of “Backpack Full of Cash,” a feature length documentary that explores the growing privatization of public schools and the resulting negative impact on America’s most vulnerable children. Understanding the importance of the issue, the League of Women Voters of the Piedmont Triad Education Roundtable has arranged for the showing of the film in Greensboro. Other event hosts include Public Schools First NC, Guilford County Association of  educators and AAUW Greensboro. Privatization of public schools strikes at the very heart of our country’s most democratic institution and has serious consequences for local public school systems and communities across the nation, including Guilford County. It is a critical issue to explore and understand. For additional information contact: Dot Kearns ([email protected]), or Sue Mengert ([email protected]) 336-288-1420.
