Speaking Through Quilts with Valerie Paterson / Dec. 22

While we most commonly think of the love that quilts create, they are also an avenue of expression. This can range from frustration and anger to admiration and joy, honoring a person to presenting social issues. As part of the exhibit A Better World: Heroes working for the greater good (www.ABetterWorldExhibition.com) which includes quilts and essays, we will look at Valerie’s quilt “Hell and Hope” as well as samples from international quilt exhibits.

Parents’ Day Out / Dec. 7

10 a.m. to 2 p.m /  Childcare Room / Volunteers from the Religious Education committee will host children in the childcare room downstairs where they will have time to play and complete a craft project while their parents shop or work on other holiday chores. Calling All Crafters / Dec. 9

7:00 p.m. / Parlor / Are you interested in doing small projects with other crafters at New Garden? A small group has met a couple of times and we are planning to meet on Monday, December 9 at 7 p.m. in the parlor. We are going to be making some blankets for dogs and cats in the local shelters.
