Friendship Community Partnership is collecting items for Family Service of the Piedmont through December 31. A collection box is in the Connector. This year they are asking for twin and double white sheets, pillows, pillowcases, white towels and washcloths, paper plates, cups, forks, disinfectant spray, AA, AAA, C and 9-volt batteries, bottled water, juice, feminine products, soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes, nightgowns and pajamas for women and children, women’s white socks, children’s books,…

While we most commonly think of the love that quilts create, they are also an avenue of expression. This can range from frustration and anger to admiration and joy, honoring a person to presenting social issues. As part of the exhibit A Better World: Heroes working for the greater good (www.ABetterWorldExhibition.com) which includes quilts and essays, we will look at Valerie’s quilt “Hell and Hope” as well as samples from international quilt exhibits.
The carolers will meet at New Garden Meeting at 4:45 p.m, walk over to Friends Home Guilford and begin caroling at 5 p.m. They will return to the meetinghouse for pizza following the caroling.
