As we gradually resume in-person activities, we continue to prioritize safety and inclusiveness for all users of our meeting house, both New Gardeners and visitors. Needed: Participants for Monthly Meal for Homeless / June 2021

On the 1st Tuesday of each month, New Gardeners serve a meal at Greensboro Urban Ministries’ Weaver House, a shelter for homeless adults. The meal consists of “Cowboy Stew”, a turkey ham sandwich with condiments, assorted home-baked desserts, and iced tea. We need a few more stew preparers and servers. Covid-19 Vaccine Information / June 23, 2021

Cases of COVID, hospitalizations and percent positive COVID tests in NC have decreased and stayed stable at low levels this week. Vaccination numbers inched up with NC having 42% of the total population and 79% of persons age 65 years and older now fully vaccinated. Vaccination continues for 12-15 year olds and counting full vaccination for those 12 years of age and above the rate is up to 49%. NC is now planning a lottery…
