Sunday, August 18, 3 p.m. The annual FCP picnic will be held at New Garden Friends Meeting. Burgers and hot-dogs will be served. Bring a covered dish to share. Saturday, August 24, 2 p.m.& Sunday August 25, 7:30 p.m. Theatre Field Trip to see play “No Fear & Blues Long Gone: Nina Simone at Carolina Playmakers in Chapel Hill. The great singer Nina Simone was born in Tryon, NC, where her home is being restored. Tickets are reduced to $15 for these two dates only. Saturday, August 31 9 a.m. Gazing Prayer Tour on city bus, led by Rev. Donald McCoy of Raleigh’s Cross Roads UMC. Show up at the downtown depot, with money for bus ticket and lunch.
