Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) helps us explore the power we all have to change hostility and destructiveness into cooperation, community, and justice.

Why? To discover new ways to reduce conflict in your world, your community, organization, or personal life. Enjoy a hands-on, fun, activity-based experience (no need to take notes!) in an intensive weekend workshop. People who’ve taken the training report they have connected deeply with others, laughed, shared, listened. They’ve experienced increased trust and self-esteem and learned ways to reduce conflict in their world—whether classroom, family, work, or community.

How does it work, you ask? Here’s how!

Friday Night: 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
We’ll get to know each other and start the process of breaking down barriers.

Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
We use lots of exercises to have meaningful conversations, you’ll get to try out some new skills, and interact with others.

Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
We’ll work together to put together everything you experienced and learned on Saturday, and start exploring new ways of handling conflict. There will be more opportunities to think about things differently and be exposed to the experiences of others. Plus some more silly, fun, games to boost the energy and get us all laughing.
