New Garden Friends Meeting is excited to welcome Ashley Wilcox as our interim pastor. Ashley has been a recorded Quaker Minister for fourteen years. She graduated from Candler School of Theology at Emory University with a Master of Divinity in 2016. She also holds a law degree from Willamette University College of Law, and a BA from the University of California in Santa Cruz. In 2021 Ashley published a bestselling book, The Women’s Lectionary: Preaching the Women of the Bible Throughout the Year.

We look forward to Pastor Wilcox’s message for us on September 18th! Reminder: Sunday the 18th after Meeting is the rain date for our carry-out(side) meal. Please bring your own bag lunch. The Meeting will set up folding tables and chairs and provide beverages. This is the perfect opportunity to greet Pastor Wilcox and welcome her into our congregation.

Dear Friends,

I am so happy to be joining you as the Interim Pastor of New Garden Friends Meeting! Thank you for your warm welcome.

Here is a little about me: I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, and I lived in many places before moving to Greensboro a year ago. I first came to Friends in a semi-programmed meeting, so that style of worship feels like home for me. I have been active as a Quaker minister for fourteen years, and my meeting in Oregon recorded me as a minister in 2013. I also recently published a book, The Women’s Lectionary: Preaching the Women of the Bible throughout the Year.

I am looking forward to getting to know you during our time together! This interim will be a time of deep listening and discernment about who you are as a community and what you are seeking in a settled pastor. It is an honor to accompany you as we listen together.

Blessings, Ashley
