Pelting rain, followed by 40 mph wind brought down a giant poplar tree December 23, 2022, barely missing the parsonage and blocking the unpaved drive thru the woods to Friends Homes, Guilford Campus. The tree knocked down the fence but thankfully did not damage the parsonage.
Children are Welcome at Meeting for Worship and Meeting for Wiggles is BACK! All children are invited and encouraged to join us during Meeting for Worship. There is a blanket in the back corner of the meetingroom for children to sit on for Meeting for Wiggles. They are welcome to bring small, quiet toys to play with. During a recent graveside memorial, it was noted that most friends in attendance could not hear the service. Recently, New Garden received an anonymous donation of $450 to purchase a portable lithium battery power supply to remedy that problem. This power supply will enable us to set up portable loud speakers in the cemetery for memorial services, and will also be useful in other applications. Sincere thanks from the Tech team.
The space between a solar panel and the roof makes a perfect location for squirrels to build a dry nest, safely hidden from predators. Although they are arguably the most adorable of the rodent family, squirrels will chew on absolutely anything, and they find the insulation on electrical wires especially tasty.
